Peta Meyerink - Registered Psychologist

Director and Founder

BSocSc(SW) BSocSc(Psych) GradDip(Psych) MProfPsych

I am a registered psychologist with a special interest in perinatal mental health and child and adolescent wellbeing. I provide support for individuals and families navigating pregnancy, early parenthood, and the emotional challenges of raising children.

I have a particular passion for working with new and expectant mothers experiencing anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, birth-related stress, or difficulty adjusting to parenthood. I also support children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural, or anxiety-related difficulties, working closely with parents to strengthen connection and understanding within the family.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental, with a focus on helping clients feel safe, understood, and supported. Together, we work to make sense of emotions, build coping strategies, and strengthen confidence in managing life’s challenges.

I draw on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), as well as play-based and attachment-informed approaches when working with children and families.

I am also a certified Bringing Up Great Kids (BUGK) facilitator, and I use an attachment-focused lens to support parents in strengthening their relationship with their child and responding to emotional needs with confidence.

Qualifications and Memberships

I hold a Master of Professional Psychology, Professional Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health and Advanced Practice Certificate in Child Mental Health and Trauma.

I am registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). I’m also a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi).

What Matters to me Therapy

Honesty, trust and collaboration are at the heart of my work. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences at their own pace. For me, therapy is not about telling people what to do; it is about working together to build practical tools, deepen self-understanding and support meaningful, sustainable change that aligns with their values and goals.
